Overview

The Department of Labour is responsible for formulation, implementation and enforcement of the labour laws in the Maharashtra state. It also undertakes prevention and settlement of industrial disputes, Industrial safety, Health and promotes welfare of workers in the undertakings falling within the sphere of the State. The headquarters of the department are located at Mantralaya, Mumbai and is headed by the Hon. Minister of Labour. The Principal Secretary (Labour) is the Administrative head of the department.
